Jellyfish again stung dozens of tourists in the coastal area of Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, Saturday (07/13/2019). Most of the victims are children.
SAR Secretary of the Satlinmas Region II, Gunungkidul Surisdiyanto, said that from the data from Saturday to 17.00 WIB, there were 81 visitors stung by these tentacles.
The details are Indrayanti Beach or Pulang Sawal 7 people, Sadranan 11 people, Krakal Beach 9 people, Drini Beach 15 people, Watu Kodok Beach 4 people, along 25 people Beach, Kukup Beach 9 people, and Ngandong Beach 1 person.
Jellyfish tentacles cause pain in the human body when touched.
Reactions from stings vary from itching, heat, shortness of breath to fainting.
"For today, no one has been rushed to the clinic, we can handle everything," Surisdiyanto, told Kompas.com, made a short message on Saturday.
Most of the stung are children because they do not know that blue and tufted animals are dangerous.
This form of jellyfish can attract attention, especially children, because it has a unique shape and color.
Since morning, the animal has landed on the beach. It and the residents have tried to clean up by burying.
However, because of the large number, it can't be cleaned. "We have given an appeal for visitors to be careful," he said.
SAR Coordinator for the Satlinmas Region II Gunungkidul Marjono added that conditions in the sea are cold so jellyfish are looking for a warm place in the coastal area.
For the appearance of jellyfish or the local community to know it as impes, it appealed to not touch.
"Visiting the beach is safe, as long as we obey and follow the direction of officers in the field," he said.
