Danilo Petrucci will still race for Ducati next season. Ducati confirmed that Petrucci had extended another one-year contract.
Petrucci was recruited by Ducati at the start of the 2019 MotoGP to replace Jorge Lorenzo. At that time he was contracted for one year.
Together with Ducati, Petrucci displays okay performance so far. Of the eight races that have been held, Petrucci always finishes in the top six.
Not only that, Petrucci recorded three podium finishes, including his first victory in the premier class in the Italian MotoGP. He is now ranked third in the rider standings behind Marc Marquez and Andrea Dovizioso.
These results convinced Ducati to add to Petrucci's contract. He will again become a Dovizioso tandem on Ducati in the MotoGP 2020.
"I am very happy to continue with Ducati for another year. That is my target since the beginning of this new round, because we immediately found great chemistry with the team," Petrucci said as reported by Crash.
"In the first half of the season, we were able to progressively increase competitiveness, two podium finishes and one unforgettable victory."
"Updating our cooperation before the summer break made me much more calm and confident about the future."
"Now I just want to stay focused and continue to develop as a rider to achieve far better results on the track. We are third in the standings and we want to end the season in the top three," he said.
