PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) intends to bring in new cars at the beginning of the 2019 semester. After the previous New Triton, MMKSI still has another mainstay to floor in GIIAS 2019.
One of the news that is currently warm to the surface, another mainstay prepared by Mitsubishi is the Crossover SUV segment, the Eclipse Cross. On Asean, this car has landed first in Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
It is likely that this car officially landed in the country, because Mitsubishi admitted some time ago was studying the market and its segmentation in Indonesia.
Of course what Eclipse Cross specifications are offered in both countries?
First in Brunei Darussalam, quoting from the GHK Motors.com page, this car is offered on one GLX option with the same 2,000 cc DOHC MIVEC 4811 engine code with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo engine. The power is mated to the CVT transmission type and the 2WD (Two Wheel Drive) drive system, a six-speed sport mode.
Unlike Brunei, in Singapore, Eclipse Cross is offered with one MIVEC engine variant (4B40) with a capacity of 1,500 cc Turbo, CVT transmission and 2WD (Two Wheel Drive) drive system, sport mode with 8 acceleration options.
With the marriage of the turbo engine, the Eclipse Cross 1.5 Turbo can spew 163 PS at 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 250 Nm at 1800 to 4500 rpm. Able to go from zero to 100 km / h in just 9.3 seconds. Looks like this machine is suitable to be a competitor to the Honda CR-V?
In terms of features, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in Singapore is more royally mentioned to support comfort while driving. As a neighboring country, this feature also seems to be entering Indonesia, namely the installed Head Up Display (HUD) which is commonly used in sports and luxury cars.
Then the Smartphone Link Audio System (SDA) is located next to the shift key in the center console, the driver can enjoy intuitive operation of Audio Link Display Audio (SDA) with the touchpad controller to easily access maps, music and calls while on the go.
As another standard security feature, the owner of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has also been able to enjoy the sophistication of other features such as Keyless System, Multi Around Monitor (to help when parking when facing blind spots), the same Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM) can apply emergency braking with visual sensors in front.
Then Automatic High Beam - automatically switches the high and low headlights with the front visual sensor and the parking sensor monitors the surroundings of the vehicle when parked with ultrasonic.
This five-passenger car has previously appeared at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, waiting for more than a year has not yet materialized. If it is properly docked in the country, what is the model that will glide in Indonesia?
The MMKSI still keeps the information. When alluded to whether the Eclipse Cross can replace the role of the Outlander.
"Yes, we will just see that if it is launched or not launched, we will wait. If it is launched, we will just talk about it," said Irwan in Jakarta after the launch of New Triton.
Even when trying to get answers from other directors, they say the same thing. "The segment is different, so, on July 9th, I will meet the MMKSI invitation, we will have a press conference there," Imam said.
If the Eclipse Cross really landed, Indonesia would be the next country in ASEAN after Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. As is known Mitsubishi is somewhat different, because this Japanese company launched a new car before the GIIAS 2019 event.
